Rick Stevens (Donald Stevenson), best known for singing some of the early hits for Tower of Power, died at the age of 77 on Tuesday (9/5/2017). Some of the classic songs that Stevens’ voice is featured on include Sparkling In The Sand, Bump City, You’re Still A Young Man and Down To The Nightclub.In 1976, Stevens shot and killed three men in what was described as a drug deal gone bad. He was sentenced to life in prison, but was paroled in 2012. He then resumed his singing career forming the group Rick Stevens & Love Power.
